Once you have made the decision to take lessons is understood that we all want the student to enjoy his/her experience. There should be fun and joy in the pursuit of music. However, it is also important to realize the commitment involved. The main expectation I have is that you will PRACTICE! One cannot improve at anything if there is no practice. Just as there is homework for school studies, there is homework for lessons. The parents’ role in this process is to support and encourage these good practice habits. My other expectations are simple:
-
Please be on time.
-
Please be prepared (make sure you have all your materials).
-
Please be positive. We all have bad days, but at lessons let’s leave all that at the door before we start. We will have a much more productive time.
